The Codes Trial for Non-Opelptic Seizures
The codes trial was the first fully powered multi-site randomized controlled trial using conventional cognitive behavioral therapy for patients with non-opelptic seizures. They found that the primary outcome was one month of seizures at 12 months was not significantly different between the CBT plus standard medical care compared to the standard medical care arm. The secondary outcomes were very robust in their findings and that there was a significant difference across a number of measures, whether it was quality of life or functioningsignificant differences with showing improvement in the CBT group.
