i think that a lot of that fear based jail sort of vibe could potentially be something that's a bit more modern, like in the last, probably thousand years or so. As we lost our direct ability to participate in divinity through ecstatic experiences, it becomes more foreign and more scary because we have no direct relationship with it. And i don't believe, i don't suspect that if there is a metaphysical reality, that's actually what's being asked of us.
