The Perpetual Feedback Loop
In the old days of not being able to see populations with such a unbelievable specificity as you kind of had to put yourself out there. And now, when everybody is narrow casting and targeting their audiences because they have such great data about what the people that are going to hear them say. The more transparent your audience is, the more likely you are to talk to it on its own terms. It's just another aspect of this balkanization stuff that i don't think people really appreciate.
