The Importance of Validation in CBT Protocols

I find myself using trauma-informed CBT protocols for folks who haven't necessarily gone through again what we'd call sort of a formal trauma from a DSM lens and found it really effective. And I think we have a ways to go in terms of what's the most effective term that we use to describe these symptoms. So, you know, an individual who's experienced something doesn't necessarily experience a dividing line between what the DSM considers a trauma and what is very, very stressful, but not defined as a trauma. The validation part of it is very important.
