The Effects of Sleep on Brain Activity
Researchers have found that when rats are twitching, their brain is active. When the animals wake up and vigorously move their limbs as they will do when they're awake, we saw very little activity. The researchers think this could be because of the massive amounts of growth occurring during sleep.
