The Importance of Empathy in the Tech Industry
I've never worked at a place like this where design felt like it ran the company and the developers were second class citizens. I get the impression that's pretty common actually. If you discover their issues, they might be more motivated to respond positively to your suggestions. It takes a long time to build an idea completely, even though you know it's going to be broken and have all these problems. So you could save a lot of time if you give feedback earlier. And there's probably some things that you could do that would make design happier also.
