The Importance of Scientists in the AI Process
Scientists have to be involved in this process. They just cannot leave it to the companies and the governments alone. Governments have been running around putting out press releases and doing photo ops with the leaders of the companies without having scientists in the room or prominently displaying the scientists that are there. You actually do need them in the room. I mean, they have a lot of knowledge about what's practical and where things are. We don't want to regulate our way into losing the AI race with China.
