The Only Way to Spread Sympathy
In Woodland Alliance, you spread sympathy by spending one card of that suit. You also have to spend another matching supporter if the target clearing has at least three warriors of another player. Revolt is where people will try to wall you off because they can turn that very cheap one card per sympathy into twice as expensive two cards just to get a single sympathy out there. The tricky thing about Woodland Alliance is honestly in the early game, like your first two turns, the bird song is kind of the only thing that you do.
