The Importance of the Intuitive Mode

John Jacques Rousseau who in some sense is the philosopher you know great French philosopher and in some sense the intellectual predecessor led to the catastrophe of the French Revolution. He gets a lot of blame here because he literally had hit the point where he rejected the primacy of reason in favor of emotion. Without the kind of insights that Daniel Kahneman for example can provide now, we do have two modes of thought one faster and one slower. The intuitive mode is absolutely crucial to navigating the social world as it's too slow to think through and calculate what your relationships are going to look like.
