Weight Bias
Over 70% of all patients report experiencing bias from their doctors in regards to their weight. obesity affects the brain in a way that makes our rewards center more susceptible to food cues, right? Whereas when we used them weight stable their whole life, don't need to fight as hard against food cues and cravings like somebody who's lived with obesity. So my real passion is really in terms of the way that my mother experienced bias and stigma at the doctor.
