Is There a Time Lock When You Move Bitcoins?

How does it work when you move Bitcoins from the main chain to FEDI? Is there a time lock that happens? You have to trust this set of guardians to not steal your money. It's not a smart contract really on-chain that would protect you in that case. I think that's a powerful technology because most people already have these trust relationships.
