The Power of the Plasticity of the Brain
In New Zealand there's two medical schools and basically you have to decide right at the end of high school if you want to do medicine. So I decided to skip out of medicine and do an undergrad major in neuroscience and have a look back since so that was that was my fork in the road whether I did medicine or not but decided to do research. Ended up working with Frank LaFurla on an Alzheimer's mouse model while doing thesis as exchange unit at UC Irvine. Did PhD then at Johns Hopkins University with Paul Wally and Rick Huguenier in the Department of Neuroscience at Hopkins which is an amazing placeI absolutely love my my PhD experience. Then moved to MIT from his post
