The Existential Threat of Religion in Europe
I think an existential threat if you like to the integrity and the moral appearance of Europe. Chesterton where he says when people stop believing in God they don't believe in nothing they believe in anything. There is a possibility that some aspect of what is popularly called work culture is starting to behave in a kind of orthodoxy craving a coercive way. If we can't put religion into that vacuum then there's going to be some other set of certainties that sooner or later will be there.
