The Gas Price Crisis in Germany
We saw this massive price shock for energy over the summer in Europe, including in Germany. The policy proposal that I wrote with the colleague Sebastian Düllein came out still before the war because already then we were estimating that given the enormous increase in wholesale gas prices,. That would translate into around 2% increase in inflation if it was handed down into retail gas prices. So even before the war, there was a gas price crisis if you want so, but of course it has become much, much more severe.
