How Do You Make a Map?

I would love to know more about your process. You you have written books, and i assume you put maps in those books. So can you walk me through what you do from start to finish? Like, how how do you make a map right? In my maps, and i have illustrated maps for two of my series that have been published. Ihave maps for most of them.
