The Importance of Sense in Language

He became the first real philosopher to attempt a systematic analysis of language. A sentence for him expressed a thought, and every well-formed thought was either true or false. He believed that he had put mathematics on an absolutely firm foundation until Bertrand Russell produced a contradiction in his system.
