The Importance of Hedging in Climate Change

The idea of hedging isn't more incorporated into climate philanthropy and i guess public policy than it is yeah. The reason for that is fundamentally because both governments and kind of the climate community have kind of coalesced around international climate policy and the targets right. So like seriously thinking about kind of okay three degrees or four degree worlds like it's not not really happening i think very much on a policy level they're obviously like academic studies etc but  it's a kind of a bit of a taboo to kind of to think in those terms, he says. It might make sense to you know focus on not going above some threshold temperature change if we were confident that there was some discontinuity
