The first sound to join jimmy page's acuse guitar on stairway to heaven is, basis, john paul jones playing recorder. He's actually over dubbing himself here. This section is beautiful, and it's remarkable how long it goes on. It's just like a cosicatar in recorders for almost a full minute before the vocas come in. So this beginning section, even though it's just two instruments, you know, while it's a few recorders and an acoustic guitar. It's actually, harmonically and musically, the most complex part of the song which i think is pretty interesting.
