The Higgs Boson: A Fine-Tuned Situation

The Higgs is so sensitive to quantum fluctuations, we would call that a fine-tuned situation. There really has to be an accident because the other world that lives way out there doesn't know anything in some weird sense about low energy masses. So there's no reason that it would pick an energy scale for the Higgs which is arbitrarily light compared to all of the dynamics associated with that new physics. We don't see, maybe there's something way off there. You don't see anything.
