The History of Chloroform

Chloroform had a problem in it, it was far more likely to cause instant fatality during inhalation. Snow argued that basically there were two causes of chloroform death. One would be an asphyxia, which you'd see the patients struggling to breathe. And then he got a further bad name because it was thought to be used in robberies. Villains would rush up behind persons in dark colors and slam a hanker tube across their face before taking all their worldly goods.
