Major Depressive Disorder

According to DSM, he's allowed to be depressed for 13 days. Then if he's still depressed on day 14, then he has a brain disorder called major depressive disorder. And of course, we lump that major depressive disorder in with everyone else who has even chronic crippling depression for no reason at all. But there are other people who do have major depressive disorder and I'm convinced of it as a psychiatrist. There is no doubt in my mind, it is real and it exists. Hippocrates talked about it. He called it Melancholia. So this has been around for centuries in millennia. This is not a brain disorder. This is a suffering wounded individual, at least psychologically wounded individual
