Walt Disney's 'Disney'

Walt Disney didn't want anyone on the staff who had amusement park experience because he told them Disneyland wouldn't be an amusement park. He wanted young people who would be willing to learn and make mistakes. To be the general director of the project, he hired a tall 33-year-old Oklahoman named C.V. Wood. The Walt later trapped the retired admiral into assuming the role of construction supervisor.
