The Comparison of Bernard Gett's and Bernard Nealey

In 1984, Bernard Gett's shot four kids on the subway demanding money and none of them died. He was seen as this sort of folk hero in a much more violent place than New York today. The Nealey story comes at us from a completely different direction with acompletely different sequence of details. So I think there is a layer of sympathy for this Marine who was potentially acting in a way to protect himself and others but you cannot just go there without hitting the first two layers.
