How Poe Navigated That Push Pull
Poe had a tight rope to walk in that space. But also, he never really settled it in his own mind. It was a struggle that was perpetual throughout his life. The magic of it is the magic of poe, and what i admire so much about him as a writer is that a very smart and precocious seven year old can enjoy it. And then also it has created like a library's work of criticism and scholarship at the same time.
