The Battle of the Catalonian Plains
Giordanus tells us that in the end, a hundred and 65 thousand people died in the battle. That number has been flatly dismissed by historians as an exaggeration. Now why don't i think that this battle should be remembered as one of the most important in world history? Well, first, it technically wasn't the battle that blunted the hun invasion. You could argue that the battle of the catalonian plains was actually a rearguard action. Secondly, this battle didn't really stop the huns. Yes, it put an end to the invasion of gaul, but it wasn't attila just disbanded his army, went home and licked his wounds.
