The law is not made for the sharp blade of vengeance. The whole point about the court room is it's there to make ar or law runs smoothly. If you take some one's life, that has to be marked in an way. So the art of sentencing is to find the right balance between those things. And i suppose part of the art of government is to draft laws that allow the judge to do that.
