When Pat was an architect, he planned to own his own architectural firm. He got laid off in 2008 and didn't know what to do with himself. A podcast by Cornelius Fitchner inspired him to start a business teaching people how to pass the AP exam. His website became so well known that it appeared on many green building council websites. It's now worth more than $30 million.
