Plato's Theorem of Inherentness
Theories of innateness are still current in contemporary philosophy. But i don't really think it's right to take the theory of recollection as metaphorically expressing a theory of Innateness. In other words, hes saying that humans are born with a great deal of knowledge already built in,. so to speak. So this way of understanding plato could help to show that he is relevant to our philosophical concerns to day. Now i'm the last to deny that plato is relevant. For example, we'll see that this very dialogue, the mino introduces a distinction that is still fundamental in philosophy to day - the distinction between knowledge and true belief.
