Is Theranos a Trade Secret?

Thernos wasn't even using its chemistries. It tried to, and they didn't work. So it tried again with seamen's reagents,. The sum total of its value added was creating a smaller cup to hold the finger stick samples., diluting them and programming a few changes into the advias soft ware. Is that real innovation? I'd say it's tinkering with someone else's invention and making it worse.
