How to Choose the Right Metrics for Your Business
Sally Kohn: I used to track traffic really closely. But what I found more and more is traffic doesn't really matter unless it translates into something that's actually going to help your business. The biggest North Star metric is going to be revenue, which sounds crazy because obviously if you're running a business like revenue is important. For us, for us, I choose email subscribers. So that's the only metric that I care about right now. That helps me make choices in the business. And often that is like, maybe email is the gas in the tank or something like whatever it is.
