I don't think we've heard the last of oliver dowden. He's a very, very highly regarded administrator by conservetors,. A very effective fixer. But it is certainly a very striking departure to day. If more ministers were to resign, things could defly get sticky. There's no obvious escape economically, for boris johnson. I guess this hope will be that the government can limp through to the summer recess. and that something will look a bit different in the autumn. The only other thing which could change about tory leadership contests is if nobody had confidence vote in the prime minister. Geoffrey clifton says you can't have another contest for another year
