The Difference Between a Natural Sugar and a High Fructose Corn Syrup

Fructose is the primary sugar in fruit and of course fructose is also a component of high fructose corn syrup. Fructose is processed by the human body a little bit different than glucose. When you consume something like glucose, insulin is released by your pancreas but when you consume fructose it's not controlled by insulin. In addition fructose has been associated with a high conversion in the liver into what are called triacylglycerols or triglycerides which can really have an effect on weight gain as well.
