I remember even like early 90s when I was, you know, six, seven, the internet came out and it was kind of marketed as this like utopian cyberspace. There was this idea that the internet would enable us to communicate with one another in a horizontal manner where the state and corporations do not have control effectively over what's being said or who we engage with. But 10 years earlier, Claude and I had already said that that was never going to be the case. They thought computers as consumer goods were an emancipatory sort of tool for us as just people, but also people who are on the left who want to counter certain forms of power. It really boggles me
