The History of the Kohinor

In 1855, Queen Victoria debuted the new Kohinor in a crown of gold and silver flowers with hundreds of pearls. When her husband, Prince Albert, died, she dressed in all black for the rest of her life. Her first appearance after his death was coincidentally an exact inverse of Rajit Singh who had worn the diamond over robes of white. We covered the suffragette Sophia Duleep Singh on this podcast.
