As a child growing up in Detroit, I feel like I grew up in a community especially facilitated by my parents but in a way that was like very much like rooted in black history, black education. The second wave was in middle school in Ann Arbor, Michigan in a relatively like mixed school of like nationalities and things like that being this you know supposed to be the 80s and 90s. Most West offers what it means to think about all things being relational and what that means about the role of culture and transformation and justice.
