Teaching and the Teaching Teachers Toolkit - Quick on the Draw
A lot of people talk about group roles often when they talk about group work. But my experience is that those ideas don't really work at all well unless the task is unbelievably well planned and it takes hours to think about how those roles will interact. So for example there was a lesson that I used to use often, which is based on an idea from a book by Paul Guinness called the teaching and the teaching teachers toolkit. They're called quick on the draw and you can do it at the start of a unit or at the end of a unit. It's quite sort of boring because all you're doing is going around just, you know, checking stuff and it runs like clockwork
