Don Draper is seen pulling his old mobile into the driveway of a picket-fenced home in the suburbs. He unlocks the door and walks up the staircase, past the rooms of two sleeping children, to a bedroom,. where a woman is half asleep, waiting. His wife, Don Draper, is married, and the credits roll. Weiner says when he finally sat down to write the pilot script, it just poured out of him. After having mauled his idea over for nearly two years, he suddenly had on his desk a completed script in just ten days. The Sopranos subverted everything; if Tony Soprano can kill people, Don Draper can sell cigarettes.
