The Origins of L O R D in the Bible
In the burning bush, God gives Moses a name that basically means I will be. The Hebrews didn't want to say the name of God out loud so they called it 'I don't I' When people began to translate the Bible into English, they use the word L O R D and all caps to delineate that from the word Lord with the small L.
