Playing music in a group makes us feel more connected. When people are musically insinct with one another, their brain activity starts to sink up as well. If i have a group of people chanting an i wire them all up with the g recording equipment, you can show that actually the extent to which theyare really synchronized with each other is reflected in their nero physiological activity very directly.
Some sounds bring happy memories flooding back. Other sounds put us on edge; drive us to distraction; or cause us considerable distress. Sound matters... so why don't we pay more attention to our sonic environment?

Featuring auditory psychologist David Poeppel, psychology researcher Giulia Poerio, clinical psychologist Ali Mattu, sound scholar Mac Hagood and acoustician Trevor Cox.
