Do You Need an LLC for a Solo 401k?

You don't need an LLC to start a solo 401k or self directed 401k. Congress has authorized it, but nobody's offering one yet. If you're being paid on a 1099, you're in business. The form of that small business is a sole proprietorship. You can write up all your business expenses. It's just not that hard. And this is a lot easier if you don't have employees.
