The Value of Open Science Practices
Eric Schmitz: I think some of the points that Milo made earlier that being center structures within academia are not set up to promote good science. So it's less well understood within the public state, but these kinds of practices also do act as a bit of a signal. The moment the heuristic is like, ah, has it been peer reviewed? Whereas the heuristic will slowly hopefully change towards, like, does it meet these norms that we actually accept as being representative of good science? He says open data would make his life easier and answer more specific questions on a larger scale.
