How to Set Up a Gym Devout

The movie could have been done more elegantly, not that it's not cool, but it just feels like there was probably another way. The gym is the one. We still don't know how it was pulled off until we get this like, you know, flashback sequence and Ethan's mind where he's imagining Jim pulling it off. But if you were going to do the gym reveal, how would it work? It really feels like a true reveal that truly pays off and isn't confusing and also falls at the right point in the film.
