Introduction
Paudre Gautuma's poem artist is towards the end of Vidyan Ravindthiran's book, The Million Petaled Flower of Being Here. There's this sense that somebody is feeling like their artistic capacity was dampened. When I prepare a poem for poetry and bound I often write it out, sometimes long hand and always typing as well. Twice when I wrote this poem out I made a spelling mistake in the first line. But twice wrote when you were young you'd draw on pain and then I went on to the other lines. And what's interesting is that the word pain is hidden in the word paint. This poem is looking at how for this particular character,
