The Resurrection of the Church in England

Tracts for the times were published in the oxford movement. These were very revolutionary views, because since the time of henry the eighth, the church in england was deeply interconnected with secular government. Newman and his fellows were appealing to the fathers to separate the church at least in spirit and in practice, from any kind of mentality of worldliness. It was the recovery of christianity before its corruption.
