Is It a False Trade Off?
Short termism is usually used as a term of disapproval on the basis that it's sort of associated with, you know, selfishness and miopia. Are people wronged to want to satisfy their current needs rather than try to sort out a future which really cannot be predicted? I feel that this is again, a false trade off. What we ly need is a levelling down of wealthier people's consumption of our national ofo other natural resources. And actually, if we were to really try and fix the climate change problem, we would also be thinking about how do we make the kind of machinery and the goods and services more environmentally friendly accessible to low incomes.
