How Do You Tell if You Are Being Derivative or Under Original?

There isn't actually anything that is truly 100% original we're all deriving from something like Sing Street. A lot of times you are being hard on yourself but certainly in your younger years you're either probably writing fanfic and or writing something that isn't fanfic but is so utterly derivative of the thing that you're sealing from.
