The Importance of Accountability in Implementing the SDGs
It's easy for governments to talk, but walking the walk or being held accountable is a lot harder for a government to say, get them to say yes to. So what we are really looking at with the SDGs is not just a lack of accountability, but we are looking at yet another piece in a much, much bigger jigsaw puzzle that is fundamentally renegotiating the role of the state. This is setting us up for a really challenging situation where the whole holding anyone to account becomes way more complex as well.
