Nietzsche's Explanatory Power

Nietzsche stood at the top of Mean Mountain in the 19th century and he looked out across the next 300 years. Nietzsche called so many of our cultural institutions issues 100 years in advance, 150 years in advance. This should floor you when you actually understand what's going on here. The nerd is a sort of theory cell. He's lost in the abstractions of his mind and ends up not achieving anything, so he's smart but not wise.
