The Importance of Localization in the Humanitarian Sector

Lars Peter: There is simply no understanding of what it means to localize humanitarian response. Lars Peter: For me the overriding concern when we talk about localization is to shift power. If we're not shifting power I don't know what we're talking about, that's clear. He says there are huge disparities in the way different levels of response have been discussed by UN, INGOs and completely different attitudes as well. And for local organizations, localization is very often considered just delivering aid on local level, on her model level and has nothing to do with international responders.
