The p 38 lightning was a twin engine killer catalac with wings that could zip through the skies at a top speed of 395 miles per hour. It was easily the fastest fighter aircraft in the pacific theatre and pilots like mitch, tom and rex loved this airplane. The machine chosen to kill yamamoto on april eighteenth, 19 forty three had an external fuel tank that could be jettisoned after it was used up. And best of all, it was very easy to kill enemy pilots with this aircraft because the guns were located in the nose of the plane rather than the wings.
